We’re hiring! We are so excited to announce that we’re in the search for a new full-time Wedding Publicist! Details and application requirements are listed below. We look forward to hearing from you!

BACKGROUND

OFD Consulting is a Richmond, VA- based niche marketing and public relations agency that exclusively services the wedding industry. Current clientele includes a broad representation of some of the top wedding companies and experts in the market. For more information, visit us at www.ofdconsulting.com.  We are looking to expand our small but mighty team with another full-time position.

DUTIES

The Wedding Publicist will be responsible for developing content calendars, writing marketing pieces, and social media management (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram/Latergram, and Blogging) for OFD and a number of clients.

They will also be expected to provide regular staff support, which may vary depending on current needs and marketing objectives, but could include: creating and maintaining current client press lists; assisting with activities during events if possible; confirming appointments; developing ideas for pitches; research; and involvement in promotions.

ELIGIBILITY

Eligible participants with a Bachelor’s degree in mass communications (PR, Corporate Communication, etc) preferred. The ideal candidate has strong communication and organizational skills, as well as maturity, creativity and the ability to work independently.  A background in the event industry is not required, but preferred.

SKILLS

The best candidate for Wedding Publicist is a driven, organized and detail oriented individual who values on the job experience. An understanding of basic marketing and public relations is preferred and strong writing skills are required. Previous experience planning events is a plus. Candidate must take direction well, although the opportunity to be creative will be prevalent throughout the time spent at OFD. Public Relations is often a fast-paced environment so the ability to think quick and “on your feet” is a huge bonus.

Proficiency with Mac OS, Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel) and Social Media Management (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Blogging) is a must. Also, a proficiency in WordPress would be helpful, as well as some knowledge of SEO.
