For those on the East Coast, Hurricane Irene was no walk in the park. I was, admittedly, one of the luckier ones given that my main headache was a pile of unwashed laundry and a 20 minute drive to my office any time I wanted to do something to my hair.
For Jason and Melissa, the biggest challenge came when their OBX wedding, scheduled for August 28, was moved up to August 26 and transported to Richmond suddenly, after a mandatory evacuation was announced in the Outer Banks.
I still remember when the phone calls and texts starting rolling in from PW Photography to keep me posted on the latest, and I was so pleased (and not shocked one bit) that the endlessly generous Richmond wedding community stepped up to help this couple out during their time of need. When we shared the story with the always wonderful Arlene Stewart of the Richmond Times Dispatch, she was immediately moved and ready to tell their story:
I was delighted with how the story turned out and equally thrilled to see many of OFD’s clients, former clients, colleagues and friends, involved. Not that I was surprised- I like hanging out with nice people. 🙂
