Wedding Marketing: OFD is off to TSE!

I’m pleased to share that I have been selected, along with a fantastic team of my colleagues, to speak at this January 2012’s The Special Event in Florida! Last year was an absolute blast and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to come back. This year’s topic, the brainchild of Jennifer McBride of McBride Events, is one that is near and dear to me since I’m the one who always had to deal with the Chef meltdowns over Filets 🙂 —

Time Crunch, managing the delicate balance between your clients wants and the professionals involved needs on the BIG day.

Brides and their entourages are being bombarded with more and more opportunities and products to dazzle their guests and make their events memorable. As a planner how do you balance it all? It’s our job to “make it happen” and we walk a very fine line, wanting to make our clients happy and leveraging/maintaining our relationships with the event professionals involved in the BIG day process. How do we manage the “stylized” photo shoots in between ceremony and reception, the film maker that needs his shots too, the make up artist and hair stylist that committed to 24 services, and don’t forget the “angry chef that has $37,000 worth of filet mignon turning to rubber if we aren’t seating guests promptly at the designated time.

I’ll be joined once again by my speaking partner in crime Jennifer McBride of McBride Events (of course!), as well as Emily Hudspeth Hair & Make up Artist, Meghan McSweeney Photography and Scott Strimple of United Wedding Films.

Hope to see you there!
