To Ireland and Back- the Weddings Online Conference

They say that home is not where you live but where they understand you. Or at least, that’s the quote they have painted on the Guinness Storehouse wall in Dublin. 🙂

A very apropos quote to bump into (yes, I made time for fun overseas as well) while wrapping up my whirlwind trip to Ireland for the Weddings Online conference and awards.I can’t help but feel like I’m home when among the Irish wedding industry- such a passionate, creative and fun group.

The conference itself, featuring the likes of such well known talents as Gavin Duffy, Krishna De and Mark Richardson (to name just a few of the extensive line up) walked wedding pros through everything from branding and social media strategies to converting sales leads into real business.

While the majority of the speakers had limited experience in the wedding industry itself, their principles and business tips were easily applicable.  As for me, I was happy to bring the latest in wedding trends to the group, showcasing in part some of the fabulous images from this year’s Wedding Luncheon in Phoenix.

Did I mention we trended #wol on Twitter during the event?  Now I know what it feels like when someone wins an Oscar. 🙂

The WOL awards the same evening was a fabulous end to a memorable day. Congrats to all of the nominees and winners!

I wrapped up the trip with a bit of fun- after all, who can pass on a trip to the Guinness Storehouse and the chance to see Calendar Girls in its limited run? I’m still in shock over the name of the restaurant I dined at during my last night in this fabulous city.

A BIG thanks to Weddings Online, especially the hostess with the mostess and all around sassy wedding pro (and author!) Bláithín who made my memorable and whirlwind trip the very best!

Life gets busy here in the next few weeks so just a few promos before I sign off:
