This Week’s Obsession: My Beloved White Board

I can put most any Type A person to shame.

I color code everything. If I can find a reason to put something in a spreadsheet, I will. If it’s possible to have more of a left side of a brain then the right, then I do.

When I officially set up OFD shop in my home office, I was quick to purchase a fresh white board and a handful of erasable markers. Before long, the white board became my go to for everything- my to do list for the week, long term goals, blog topics and billing cycles. All, of course, in different colors.

The draw, you may ask? My priorities are always in front of me.

So when it came time to research project management software, I was at a loss. I thought my white board system would work forever but with the gentle prodding of my business counselor, I hit the research trail.

After countless hours and endless articles… I just bought a second white board.

Months later, I was conversing with a fellow small business owners and after sharing our current strategies, we went our separate ways. He, in search of the perfect program to implement and I, with my erasable markers.  Flash forward two months and yep, you guessed it, he bought himself a ginormous white board.

I’m constantly in search of ways to become more efficient at what I do. At the same time, if I can find something as elementary as a white board to keep me on task, then I’m not going to knock it.

Trying to keep organized with your forever To Do list? Then I encourage you to join my white board resolution!
