Illuminate: the Recap

How quickly time flies- I just can’t believe a month has already passed since Illuminate:the Workshop took place here in Richmond. And what a time it was- a sold out crowd of 100 attendees, new sponsors and even a brief bit of fame as our Pinterest-inspired welcome party for Blaithin received a mention on CBS News this morning. Additionally, we had the pleasure of hosting Blaithin for a few additional days- showing her the sights and sounds of Virginia. I’m not a napper but it may come as no surprise that I took a six hour nap after dropping her off at the airport. 🙂

Very simply put, Illuminate was a smashing success! From the fresh seminar topics and lovely location to the amazing sweets break by Cakes by Graham– I just couldn’t have asked for a better day. For an inside look into the day, enjoy some of my favorites below, courtesy of Stephanie Yonce Photography:

What’s next for Illuminate you may ask? This summer we’re welcoming new additions to the OFD team and will be keeping busy with projects that have been patiently awaiting our return after a semester of teaching PR at one of the local universities. We’ll be back in the Spring of 2013 with what will be our fourth annual workshop. In fact, we just created a new folder in our inbox called “Illuminate 2012”- it doesn’t get any more official than that. 🙂

And I’d like to take one more moment to thank everyone who continues to support this endeavor. I’m well aware of the fact that it takes quite a few people to put on such a day and I am most grateful for the wonderful people who surround this event. I won’t soon forget it.
