Let’s face it- blogging sounds like a lot of fun. Bonus? It’s fabulous for your business- from Search Engine Optimization to building yourself as an expert, blogging should be a no brainer for wedding professionals.
The problem? Blogging starts to lose its luster when you sit down in front of the computer, for the first time or the five hundredth time, and don’t know what to do next.
So I was thrilled to learn about the Blogville Conference, slated for April 28th in Charlottesville. With the goal of educating Bloggers as to how to build their own successful blogs, Blogville offers customized education for both Blogger newbies and seasoned Bloggers looking to grow. Fabulous line up, specialized education AND a chance to network with local Bloggers? Yes please.
Jennifer Hamlin of Panache Events is leading the way for Blogville, and was kind enough to sit down with us and tell us more about this upcoming opportunity.
Without further ado, here’s Jennifer–
How did the idea for Blogville come about?
The Cville SheBlogs group meets monthly and we really wanted to give the members an intensive one day conference where they can pull in more information. We also wanted those who are not involved in SheBlogs to have the opportunity to learn and grow. We have different tracks of education at the conference for social media and blogging. The savvy blogger will walk away with great info and action items, as well as a person who is not really familiar with what a blog is and how it can effect their business or their passion.
Why is Blogging important for one’s business?
Blogging offers an opportunity to connect with individuals in your community and those who you have not met yet. It showcases you and your organization as an educated individual – which hopefully leads to networking, connections and getting you hired.
What is the biggest challenge facing Bloggers these days?
Time management is one of the sessions that addresses a big challenge for bloggers. You know that social media and blogging is important. Molly Fulton and Christine Holhbaume will lead a discussion on time managment and how to incorporate blogging and social media into your busy work schedule.
What are some of the key takeaways for Bloggers who attend the event?
We look forward to bloggers walking away with action items, new strategies and an excitement for blogging and social media. The different tracks of education really cater to the different areas that attendees might need information and opportunities to grow.
